Throughout the school year, Adult Education classes are offered immediately after the morning worship service. They purpose to provide meaningful learning and sharing experiences centered on the Bible and/or Christian living .

Choir

The Choir is a longstanding and wonderful tradition at 1st Christian Reformed Church. Our group sings every other week, one Sunday it serves as the worship team and on the alternate Sunday the choir provides an anthem or other service music. The choir is open to all singers, high school age and above. Our repertoire is wide and varied from the choral classics, contemporary Christian to ethnic and gospel music. We meet every Wednesday night at 7:30 for an hour of rehearsal. We have many talented musicians that make the group a pleasure to work with and listen to. If interested, contact the church office at 206 364-1875.

Couples Club

Couples Club is a group of married couples between the ages of 20 and 45. We meet on the third Sunday of the month at the church for dinner and a Bible study. This meeting is with no kids so it's a great chance to get out and socialize. After dinner we discuss what kind of activities and volunteer projects we want to do for the year. Then we break up into smaller groups and have a Bible study. We focus on what God's Word has to say about marriage and how to build strong committed relationships with our spouse. Some of our recent Bible study books have been the HomeBuilders Couples Series by Dr. Gary and Barbara Rosberg.

One of the annual activities everyone looks forward to is the camping trip in September. We usually go to Wenatchee Confluence State Park in sunny Eastern Washington. It has a huge group site for the kids to play in. The facilities are excellent: showers, bathrooms, dining canopy, playground, tennis courts and a bike trail.

Grow Groups

Will study I & II Peter this year. The lessons include study helps and questions for discussion. We try to GROW in two ways. One is by adding members to our groups. The other is growing in knowledge of the bible and in a personal commitment of Serving God in our lives. A plus is the Christian fellowship enjoyed in small groups of eight people. With changing members each year, close friends are added to those we already have. Although most of our present members have been with us for several years, we seem to be the "revered elder generation", which is not one of our aims. We believe there is value in a mixture of ages, experiences and viewpoints and welcome couples, and singles; ages young to second childhood. We welcome you to visit one of our four groups that meet Sunday afternoons at 3:30 pm on the third Sunday of each month beginning in September. Contact the church office office@seattlecrc.org for meeting locations.

Hill Toppers

Hilltoppers is a very laid back social group for singles and married people who are a bit older than the "Couples Club" and a bit younger than "Seasoned Citizens". Watch this web site for occasional announcements of group activities.

Hospitality

Household Fellowship

Household Fellowship Groups are a great way to become involved and get to know others in our church family. Each Household Fellowship Group includes single adults as well as families. Most groups consist of 8 to 12 adults, along with their children. Typically they meet twice a month in the homes of the group members for Bible study and/or fellowship activities. Meeting dates vary, according to the wishes of the group. If you would like to learn more about Household Fellowship Groups, please contact us at HFG@Seattlecrc.org

Library

Visit our church library to find some of the newest fiction by Christian authors. Are you interested in books about Christian parenting or family life? How about the true-life stories of a past or present Christian? You will find new sections in our library devoted to biographies as well as parenting and family life. Check it out!

The library also has an eclectic collection of fiction and non-fiction books, most written from the Christian point of view. It also houses some reference and study works as well as the sermon audio/video tapes. The video collection for children is one of the most popular parts of the library. For more info Library@seattlecrc.org.

Men's Ministry

The Men's Ministry group's mission is: "To provide the opportunity for spiritual growth through relationships with other men that foster mutual support, confession, and accountability." Bible studies meet on a bi-weekly basis which allow men to meet together and find out what God has to say (in the Bible) about issues that specifically affect men. Additionally, we offer a yearly Men's Retreat, called "The Quarry." The Quarry is a way for men to spend some time away from the business of life, to listen to a speaker and discuss with other men how they can improve their walk with the Lord. Plenty of "free-time" is always provided to allow Men to "unwind" as well.
